Presentation and CAC Consideration of the Proposed Pear Blossom Retail Plaza (Wal-Mart SuperCenter) at the northwest corner of East Pine Street and Hamrick Road. City Planning staff will make a presentation and then the public will be given an opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns and/or express their opinion about the proposal. B. ADJOURNMENT Guidelines for CAC Meeting on February 11, 2004 Open Meeting, Introduce Members and Explain the Purpose of CAC and this Open Forum. • CAC provides an opportunity for citizens to be involved in all phases of the City's Land Use Planning Process. • This is the second meeting Geld to invite input on a Proposed WaI-Mart Supercenter in Central Point. Results of the first meeting are available. Process • Planning staff will make a presentation to acquaint the CAC and the public with the development proposal (the site plan is available for sale). • CAC members will be given the opportunity to ask questions of staf[ for clarification. • Citizens and the project proponent will be given an opportunity to state what they believe to be the `pros' and `cons' of the proposal. They can also ask questions which will be recorded and then answered an the spot or referred to a subsequent meeting. Everyone will be given three (3) minutes to express themselves and then time will be called. Public participation will end when every one who wishes to speak bas had their opportunity. • A Wal-Mart Representative will be given a five (5) minute period at the conclusion of public input to answer questions raised during the meeting and/or to make a statement. • The Community Development Director will also be given five (5) minutes to answer questions raised during the meeting and to introduce the tentative schedule for remaining public hearings that the City has planned. Decision • The CAC may elect to formulate a recommendation to the Planning Commission to conclude their meeting tonight or they may schedule a subsequent meeting in March to deliberate (without further public testimony) and make their recommendation to the Planning Commission.
