The city of Central point is facing difficulties in providing sufficient water to the population of the city
especially during peak summer demands. Currently, the city floats off of City of Medford's water
system for summer time demands.
Based on the population, usage and the engineering study, the city is in need to have approximately
6MG of storage supply to provide sufficient water supply, and currently the city only has 3MG which
causes low pressures in the system under high demands.
In order to be able to meet the demands and to be more self supporting, the city is seeking financial
assistance to build an additional 3MG Storage Supply.
The solution to the problem will be the City installing a new 3MG water reservoir to become se-f
sufficient and be able to supply water to the entire City at acceptable pressures. The addition of the
new reservoir will allow operation of the existing system to be altered to better regulate sufficient
supply while dealing with seasonal increases in demand. The storage tank will be built on City
owned land that is close proximity to the existing system. Other alterations to the system that are
required for the system to operate correctly will be financed by the City prior to completion of the
reservoir. With the addition of storage and pumping the City will be able to adequately serve the
existing population with good pressure and supply during all seasonal changes.
Project is for Design and Construction of storage, pumping and piping for the Cities water system.
The project will consist of the following.
-Send out RFP for design of the Facilities by Oregon Professional Engineer
-Design 3MG concrete storage tank
-Design Pumping system
-Design connection piping
-Construct 3MG concrete storage tank
-Construct pumping facilities
-Construct connection piping
