AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CENTRAL POINT MUNICIPAL CODE
BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION CHAPTER 15, SECTION 15.04.010 PERTAINING
TO BUILDING STANDARDS, AND SECTION 15.22.030, PERTAINING TO SETBACK
REQUIREMENTS FOR SWIMMING POOLS
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Title 15 of the Central Point Municipal Code is hereby amended to add and to delete
portions of 15.04.010 as follows:
15.04.010 Standards applicable to building.
A. All construction, building, and related activities within the city shall comply with all
ordinances of the city and with the following specialty codes, which by this reference are
expressly adopted and incorporated into this code:
1. The 20072010 Oregon Structural Specialty Code based on the International
Building Code, 28862009 Edition, as published by the International Code Council and amended
by the Building Codes Division; specifically adopting and including Section 108, Fees; permit
and plan review fees shall be as per the building fee schedule as adopted by the city of Central
Point; Section 111, Service Utilities; Section 115, Unsafe Structures and Equipment; Appendix
H, Signs; Appendix I, Patio Covers; and Appendix J, Grading; Appendix G, Flood -Resistant
Construction.
2. The 20072010 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code based on the 28862009
International Mechanical Code and the 20962009 International Fuel Gas Code, as published by
the International Code Council, Inc., amended by the Oregon Building Codes Division;
specifically adopting and including Section 103, Department of Mechanical Inspection; Section
106.5.2, Fee Schedule, with fees as per the mechanical fee schedule adopted by the city of
Central Point.
3. State of Oregon 20052008 Residential Specialty Code based on the 28832006
Edition of the International Residential Code, as published by the International Code Council,
Inc., specifically adopting Section R104.8, Liability; including 20052008 Residential Specialty
Code Plumbing Section, based on the 20032006 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code:; ani-
ineluding the 2005 Residential Speeialt), Code Meet4eal Seetien based en the 2005 Edition ef
NFPA 70A. The Na4ienal Eleetr-ieal Code mquir-ements for- One and Two Family Dwellings
and .-pts f.e.., the 2005 National 1✓ leetr-i al Code NFP A 70 2005
4. State of Oregon 24052008 Electrical Specialty Code based on the 20052008
Edition of the National Electrical Code as published by the National Fire Protection Association,
Inc.
5. State of Oregon 20852008 Edition Plumbing Specialty Code based on the
28832006 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code as published by the International Association
of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.
6. 1994 Edition of the Uniform Abatement of Dangerous Buildings as published
by the International Conference of Building Officials.

Conference of Building Officials.
8. The 29922010 Edition Oregon Manufactured Dwelling and PaFkInstallation
Specialty Code.
9. 20W2010 Oregon Fire Code based on the 29062009 International Fire Code
with Oregon amendments; repealing Chapter 8.16, Uniform Fire Code, and all former ordinances
or parts thereof conflicting or inconsistent with the provisions of this section or of the 2982010
Oregon Fire Code as adopted by the state of Oregon and Jackson County Fire District No. 3, the
city of Central Point's fire code authority.
10. 2010 Oregon Energy Efficiency Specialty Code based on 2009 IECC.
Section 2. Title 15 of the Central Point Municipal Code is hereby amended to add and delete
portions of 15.22.030 as follows:
15.22.030 Setback requirements.
The following measurements indicate the minimum setback requirements for a swimming
pool:
A. Setbacks shall be in.accordance with the current edition of the Oregon Residential
Specialty Code and the current edition of the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code, or the
following, whichever is more restrictive;
B. Front: No less than twenty feet from edge of water to property line contiguous with
street right-of-way;
C. Side: No less than five feet from edge of water to property line. -ems

D. Rear: No less than five feet from edge of water to property line. -e

E. Building: No less than ten feet from edge of water to foundation line or closer as may
be determined by the City Building Official.
The foregoing setbacks shall be in addition to any easements; any swimming pool decks
shall not encroach into any easements. (Ord. 1863(part), 2005; Ord. 1807 § 13, 2000; Ord. 1781
