RESOLUTION X56
A RESOLUTION OF RECOMMENDATION TO AMEND VARIANCE REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution No. 386, initiated an intent
to amend variance requirements in the zoning ordinances on May 1~, 1982;
and,
WHEREAS, notices of a public meeting held on June 1, 1982, to discuss
Council Resolution No. 38b by the Planning Commission were published in the
Mail Tribune on May 25, 1982 and May 31, 1982, and,
WHEREAS, testimony from proponents and opponents was heard at said
public meeting, and the Planning Commission determined that in the best
interest of the public welfare and convenience that other variance require
menu in addition to the zoning requirement also be amended, now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Central Point Planning Commission
that it be recommended to the Council that the variance requirements for
Fences, Signs, Major and Minor Partitions, Sub-Divisions, and Zoning be
amended to require the following standards for approval of a variance:
1. The variance will provide advantages to the
neighborhood or the city.
2. The variance will provide beautification to the
neighborhood or the city.
3. The variance will provide safety to the neighbor-
hood or the city.
4. The variance will provide protection to the neighbor-
hood or the city.
5. The variance will not have any adverse impacts upon
the neighborhood.
6. The variance will utilize property within the intent
and purpose of the zone district.
