HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 51 - Adopting a Parking policyPLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 51 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY ON PARKING WHEREAS, Central Point Municipal Cade Section 17.64.100 C. requires that there shall be adequate provision for ingress and egress to all parking spaces, and WHEREAS, the practice by developers of requesting two combined parking spaces in line (piggyback parking) requires a policy by the Planning Commission, and WHEREAS, combined parking spaces prohibit the ingress and egress of the first vehicle, unless the second vehicle is moved, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, that combined parking spaces (piggyback parking) will not be approved unless the applicant for such parking can clearly demonstrate a need by proving the followingz A. There are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or conditions applying to the land, building or use referred to in the application, which circumstances or conditions da not apply generally to land, buildings or uses in the same district; B. The granting of the application is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of substantial property rights of the petitioner; Page 1 - Resolution No. 51 C. The granting of such application will not, under the circumstances of the particular case, be outweighed by the adverse effects to the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the property of the applicant and wi11 not, under the circumstances of the particular case, be materially detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to property or improvements in said neighborhood.
