WHEREAS, the City of Centrall_ Point Planning Director. has rec{uested
an interpretation and determl.nation far allowing manicure salons irz a C-5
zane as a permitted use; and,
WHEREAS, manicure salons typically fall under the broader category
of beauty salons and barber shops and the Gity of Central Point Planning
Commission has reviewed said use within its broader context; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Central. Point Planning Commission determined
that under certain circumstances barber chaps and beauty salons including
manicurists are siml.lar and compatible with other permitted uses listed in
Central Point Municipal Code Section 17.46.fl20; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVE] BY THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT PLANNING COMMISSION AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission finds that shopping centers
and multi--use buildings exist or are created within the C-5 zone as a
result of development, and finds further that hotels and motels are a permit-
ted C--S use.
Section 2. The Planning Commission finds that barber shops,
beauty salons, and manicure salons are similar and compatible with other
permitted uses in the C-5 zane if they can be located within a shopping
center, multi-use buildings, and/or hotel or motel lobbies and that said
uses are not permitted in any other planning zone within tkze City under
these particular circumstances.
Section 3. Barber shops, beauty salons, and manicure shops are
hereby ruled to be a permitted use in a C-5 Thoroughfare Commercial zane,
