The Common Council met in special adjourned session with Mayor Bartley
presiding.
Roll call found: Present; Ayres, Holbrook, Mushaney, Tucker. Absent;
Hill, Tonn.
The Mayors committee to study the proposed new Charter, recommended the
revised. new Charter be placed on the November 5 ballot to be voted on by
the citizens of Central Point.
Proposed Ordinance No. 926, an ordinance calling for a special election
on the new charter on November 5,,1968..
It was moved and seconded the proposed. Ordinance No. 926 be approved.
Roll call vote. All in favor. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 926
declared duly adopted.
Mr. Mason asked the council if they wanted to have .Mark Boyden or
Bryce Townley to survey the construction-on South P'irst Street.
Councilman Mushaney said he understood the council .had discussed having
Mr. Boyden, since he had already done some survey work on S. First
Street.
It was~;moved and seconded to retain Mark Boyden for surveying South
First Street from Oak to Cedar Streets. Motion carried.
Mr. Mason asked the council about replacing the curbs on South First
Street from Cedar to Bush Streets, with curbs and gutters. Money
had been budgeted to replace the paving on this block after the .new
water and sewer lines had been installed. Mr. Mason said~he felt the
curbs should also be replaced. He suggested part of-the money
budgeted for Bush Street construction be used for one block of curbs.
He did not feel ,that Bush Street would be done this year; even if
the State approved their share of the construction.' Tabled until
next meeting. '
There being no further business, it was moved and seconded the meeting
adjourn. Motion carried.
