AN ORDINANCE CHANGING 7.'HE NAME OF PART OF
"FREEMAN ROAD" TO "FREEMAN COt7RT"
Recitals
1. With the completion. of the Central Point Interchange Project,
a portion of Freeman Road has been relooat:ed so as to align with North
10th 5ta:eet. As part of the c.onstructi.on of this new portion of
Freeman Road, a new cul-de-sir, was constructed at the location where
the old Freeman Road. alignment intersected with East. Pine Street.
2, At the present time, both the new portion of Freeman Road a.nd
the cul-de-sac portion of the old Freeman Road ar_e ral].ed "Freeman
Road". The City Council deems this duplication confusing,
particularly for police a.nd f_ize department responses.
3. The City Council may, aftea~ publi.r, hearing, by ordinance,
rename streets pursuant. to ORS 2?_7.1.20.
Now, therefore,
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITE' OF CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Secti_an_ 1, That portion of Freeman Road that was turned into a
c.ul-d.e-sac street as a result of the Central Point Interchange Project.
and the re-alignment of Freeman Road. with North 7.Oth Street, whi.rh
portion :Ls appr.ox:i_mat:ety 240 feet i_n length, extends north and south
and ends in a turnaround bulb appr_oxi.mat.ely 60 feet south of Fast: Pine
Street, is hereby renamed "Freeman Court",
Ser.tion 2, The City Administrator, or hi_s designee, i.s hereby
a.uthor_ized and directed to cause a certif.i.ed copy of this ordinance to
be f:i.l.ed with the Jackson Cotn.~ty Clerk, Jackson County Assessor, and
Jackson County Surveyor.
