RESOLUTION NO. ~ a }'~
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT JACKSON COUNTY TRANSFER THE
JURISDICTION OF FREEMAN ROAD TO THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT
WHEREAS, Policy 1 of the Central PointJJackson County Urban Gtowth Boundary and
Policy Agreement (Revised 1998) states that, the City of Central Point shall have primary
responsibility for all future urban level development that takes place within the City and
urban growth boundary azea; and
WHEREAS, Freeman Road improvements have been identified as a Tier 2 Project in the
City's 2030 Transportation System Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to control jurisdiction of roads within its city
limits for purposes of efficiency and enforcement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to ORS 373.270(6)(a) the
City Council of the City of Central Point requests that Jackson County transfer
jurisdiction of Freeman Road from Chestnut Avenue to Hopkins Road to the City for
purposes of maintenance, planning and capital improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said resolution will become effective following
the State's issuance of a Final Rail Order to construct the Twin Creeks Rail Crossing.
