HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Resolution 781RESOLUTION NO. 781 A RESOLUTION DECLARING TWO DISCARDED VEHICLES AT 185 BIGHAM DRIVE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING REMOVAL BY JULY 1, 1997 BE IT RESOLVED BY -THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to a written request by Willis Smith for a hearing before the City Council to determine whether two vehicles owned by Mr. Smith and stored at 185 Bigham Drive constitute a public nuisance and should be abated, the City Council on April 3, 1997, held a hearing on the matter. Section 2. After hearing testimony from Code Enforcement Officer Ron Barnett, Mr. Smith, and several of Mr. Smith's neighbors, the City Council finds that Mr. Smith is in violation of CPMC 10.12.040, which prohibits the keeping of discarded vehicles, and the Council declares such discarded vehicles to be a public nuisance. Section 3. Pursuant to the authority granted the City Council in CPMC 10.12.090, Mr. Smith is hereby allowed to keep the inoperable green Ford pickup and the inoperable 1973 Ford Grand Torino on his premises until July 1, 1997. If such vehicles are not removed from the premises and remain exposed to view from without the property by such date, such vehicles shall be immediately removed by the City without further action by the City Council.
