A RESOLUTION OF THE CENTRAL POINT CITY COUNCIL ENDORSING
AND APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE
CONSTRUCTION ON SECOND STREET
WHEREAS, the Oregon Department of Transportation is accepting grant applications
for Pedestrian or Bicycle Projects on Local Streets; and
WHEREAS, the City of Central Point has identified a 1,600 foot section of 2"d Street
between the Downtown, the Senior Center and Crater High School which does not have
pedestrian or bicycle access and improvements and is eligible for submission to the
state: and
WHEREAS, City Comprehensive Plan policies emphasize the provision of non-
motorized transportation alternatives, including improved pedestrian facilities and the
highest possible quality in the development of pedestrian facilities...throughout the
community to encourage walking and bicycling as an alternative to motorized
transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City can and will donate a local match and/or in-kind services as part
of its application; now,
The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to act on the City's behalf in
all matters pertaining to this application.
