A RESOLUTION SCHEDULING BIENNIAL ELECTION OF CENTRAL POINT CITY
OFFICERS ON NOVEMBER 3, 1998
WHEREAS, the Central Point City Charter providesthatregularCityelectionsshallbeheldatthe
sametimes andplaces as biennial general state elections, and the nextbiennial state electionis scheduled for
November 3, 1998;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ThebiennialelectionoftheCityofCentralPoint,Oregon,shallbeheldconcunently
withthe general election ofthe State ofOregon onNovember 3,1998, betweenthe hours of 7:00 a.m. and
8:00 p.m. Pacific Standazd Time, at which election the City shall elect a mayor, and one councihnember each
from Wazds I, II and III.
Section 2. The precincts, precinctpolling places and judges and clerks of election shall be the
same as those provided within the City of Central Point, Oregon, forthe statewide general electionheld on
the same date.
Section 3. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and duetted to give notice of said
election, at least 10 days prior to the election, by posting notice thereofin a conspicuous place in the City Hall
and in one public place in each voting precinct ofthe City. The notice shall state the officers to be elected,
the ballot title of each measure to be voted upon and the time and place of the election.
Section 4. All candidates forthe offices mentioned in Section 1 above shall filetheir certificates
orpetitions ofnominationwiththe City Administrator during normal business hours between Wednesday,
August 5, 1.998, and Tuesday, August 25, 1998.
