HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Resolution 712RESOLUTION N0. 7/,~ A RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS AND ADDITIONS TO THE CENTRAL POINT PERSONNEL: POLICIES AND PROCEDURES BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 6.7.1 of the Central Point Personnel Policies and Procedures is hereby amended to read as follows: 6.7.1 After six (6) months of employment, employees working more than six hundred (600) hours per year are required to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System. The employee's contribution shall be paid by the employee for all compensation earned on or after January 1, 1995. For all non-union employees, the City will make the actual payment to PERS out of the employee's pay, and the employees shall not have the option of receiving his or her full salary and then making the PERS contribution themselves directly. For purposes. of all non-union employee W-2 forms, the employees PERS contribution shall not be reported. All non-union employees' contributions are hereby deemed to be "picked up" for purposes of Internal Revenue Code Section 414(h)(2). Union employees' contributions are not deemed to be "picked up" for purposes of Internal Revenue Code Section 414(h)(2). Section 2. Effective January 1, 1995, all non-union City employees, including the City Administrator, but not including those employees who are in temporary part-time positions, as set forth in Table I of the Personnel Policies and Procedures, shall receive a 6% (six percent) increase in salary. Section 3. Table I of the Personnel Policies and Procedures is hereby amended, in the form attached hereto, and by this reference incorporated herein. As amended, Table I reflects the 6% pay increase described in Section 2 above. Section 4. There is hereby added to the Central Point Personnel Policies and Procedures a new table, Table III, in the form attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein. Table III reflects the 6% pay increase received by the employees described in Section 2 above. Table II of the Personnel Policies and Procedures shall remain in effect, applicable to all union and temporary part-time employees.. 1 - RESOLUTION NO. 7/a (121694) Section 5. Section 5.1..7 of the Personnel Policies and Procedures is hereby amended to read as follows: "5.1.7 The five-step schematic schedule. of salary ranges and steps listed as Tables I, II and III constitutes the compensation plan applicable to all classes of positions included in these Personnel Policies and Procedures." Section 6. Section 5.1.8 of the Personnel Policies and Procedures is hereby amended to read as follows: "5.1.8 All salaries prescribed are monthly rates.. For purposes of overtime payments and in those positions where it is more appropriate to pay by hourly or daily rates, the monthly rates shown in Tables I, II and III will be converted to hourly rates by the division of the monthly rate for a 40-hour work week by a factor of 173..33, and for a 56-hour work week by a factor of 243.33."
