AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE BIENNIAL ELECTION FOR
CITY ELECTIVE OFFICERS TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1982
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:.
Section 1. On the 2nd day of November, 1982, between the hours
of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock p.m., Pacific Standard Time, there
shall be a biennial election with the City of Central Point,. Oregon, at
which time and place the legal voters of said. City shall elect the follow-
ing officers thereof:
1. Mayor
2. City Recorder
3. City Treasurer
4. One (1) Councilmember from Ward I
5. One (1) Councilmember from Ward II
6. One (1) Councilmember from Ward III
Section 2. The precincts, precinct polling places and judges and
clerks of election shall be the same as those provided within the City of
Central Point, Oregon, for the statewide general election. to be held on the
same date.
Section. 3. The City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to
give notice of said election by posting the same in three. public places in
the City, not less than ten (10) days prior to the election, specifying the
offices to be elected and the date, time and. places of holding said election..
Section 4. All candidates for said offices shall file with the
City Recorder on or before 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time August 20, 1982
their certificate of nomination or petition of nomination in accordance
with the Charter and ordinances of the city.
Section 5. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preserva-
tion of the public peace, health and safety of the City of Central Point, Ore-
gon, in order that sufficient time be granted to solicit petitions, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall. be in full force and
effect immediately.
Passed by the Council and signed by me in authentication
of its passage this 24th day of June 1982..
