HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1461ORDINANCE NO. 1461 AN_ORDINANCE AMENDING CENTRAL POINT MUNICIPAL CODE WATER AND SEWER SERVICE REFUNDS WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the amendments as set forth herein are just and equitable, and in the best interests of the City of Central Point, now, therefore, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 13.04.050 of the Central Point Muni- cipal Code is hereby amended as follows-: 13.04.050 Discontinuance of water use--Refunds. Any person desiring to discontinue the use of water shall give notice, in writing, to the city administrator of such intention. The minimum charge per 667 cubic feet or fraction, shall be prorated on a daily basis, based on a thirty (30) day month, to and includ- ing the date of such notice. The minimum prorated charge shall be one dollar ($1.00). Any prepayment or deposit on account of such water service over and above the. amount owing by such user shall be refunded to said user by check or cash except when such amount in combination with any prepayment or deposit on account for sewer service which is an aggregate amount of $1.00 or less, the refund. shall be paid only by cash over the counter within sixty (60) days. If such refund by check or cash is not claimed within sixty (60) days it shall be returned to the Utility Fund Account. 13.12.060 Sewer service deposit--Refunds. A deposit for sewer service charge shall not be required of any applicant who is the owner of the property to be served. A deposit of ten dollars ($10.:00) shall be required of all other applicants. Such deposit shall be in addition to any water service deposit.. Any person desiring to discontinue the use of sewer service shall give notice, in writing, to the city administrator of such intention. Any pre- payment or deposit on account of such service over and above the amount owing by such user shall be refunded to said user by check or cash except when such amount in combination with any prepayment or deposit on account for water service which is an aggregate amount of one dollar ($1.00) or less, the refund shall be paid only by cash over the counter within sixty (60) days.
