AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ASSESSMENT AGAINST PROPERTY BENEFITTED,
FOR THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF A 12" WATER MAIN IN HOPKINS
ROAD BEGINNING AT A POINT APPROXIMATELY 760 FEET WEST
OF THE CENTERLINE OF BURSELL ROAD AND EXTENDING EASTERLY
APPROXIMATELY 2005 FEET TO THE END OF HOPKINS ROAD
The City Council by Ordinance No. 1372 declared its
intention to construct a 12" water main in Hopkins Road. beginning
at a point approximately 760 feet west of the centerline of
Bursell Road and extending easterly approximately 2005 feet to
the end of Hopkins Road within the City of Central Point, Oregon,
and to assess each lot, or portion thereof, adjacent to and
benefitted by such improvements, its proportionate share of the
cost thereof, and
WHEREAS, said ordinance was duly posted and published
as required by law, and a public hearing was held at the time and
place set by said ordinance for the. purpose of considering any
protest to the proposed improvements and assessments therefor,
and after consideration the Council deemed the same to be of
material benefit to the city and adjacent property and did order
the improvement work to be done, now, therefore,
THE PEOPLE' OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWSa
Section 1. The actual cost of the 12" water main in
Hopkins Road from a point approximately 760 feet west of the
centerline of Bursell Road and extending easterly approximately
2005 feet to the end of Hopkins Road within the City of Central
Point is hereby determined to be the sum of $72,149.22 including
interest, inspection costs and administrative costs in the sum of

$6,2.59.91, computed to April 10, 1981, which is the last date
to make payment or apply for Bancroft bonding pursuant to
ORS 223.210.. Said total sum of $72.,149.22 is to be paid by
assessments against benefitted property owners.
Section 2. The following described parcels of real
property, designated by Jackson County Tax Assessor°s tax lot
numbers, are benefitted by the construction of said improvements.
in the full amount indicated for each parcel as a proportionate
share of the total amount to be assessed against all benefitted
property, and the Council proposes to make assessments for the
cost thereof in the amount indicated for each parcel:

Section 3. The City Recorder is directed to serve
notice of the proposed assessments set forth herein by mailing
or personally delivering notices to the owners of each of the
properties to be assessed as set forth in Section 2 of this
ordinance, setting forth the amount of the proposed assessment
and setting the 12th day of March, 1981 as the date before which
objections to such proposed assessments shall be filed with the
Recorder and as the time for the hearing and. determination of
such objections.
Section 4. This ordinance being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety
of the City of Central Point, Oregon, based upon the completion

of construction, need for payment to the City and determination
of a final date for accruing interest charges, second reading
is waived pursuant to Municipal Code Section 2.04.020 and an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage. by
the Council and approval by the Mayor.
