ORDINANCE NO . 1140 y.
AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES AND COMPENSATION
OF MAYOR, COUNCILMEMBERS, TREASURER AND RECORDER
WHEREAS, Article VI, Section 2 of the Charter of the
City of Central Point directs the Council by ordinance to
prescribe the duties of appointive and elective officers and.
to fix and determine their compensation, and
WHEREAS, the biennial election for the election of
the offices of Mayor, certain Council seats, Treasurer anal.
Recorder will be held on November 4, 1980, and said duties and
compensation should be established and made public prior to the
closing date for the filing of certificates or petitions of
nomination for said offices, and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that no compensation
other than expense reimbu

Section 1. There is hereby added to the Municipal
Code of the City of Central Point Chapter 2.56 which is to
read as follows:
Chapter 2,56
Duties and Compensation of Elected Officials
2.56.010 Duties.. The duties of the Mayor, Council-
members, Treasurer and Recorder shall be as set forth in the
Charter of the city and ordinances imposing specific duties and
functions as shall from time to time be adopted by the Council.
2.56.020 Compensation. Effective January 5, 1981, the
Mayor, Councilmembers, Treasurer and Recorder shall receive no
compensation for their services as such officers, but shall be
entitled to expense allowances as set forth below and to such
other payments or benefits as are required by law:
Mayor - $200.0-0 per month
Counclmembers - $100.00 per month
Treasurer - $200.00 per month
Recorder - $200.00 per month
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the

immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety of
the City of Central Point, Oregon based upon the need to establish
the duties and compensation for said offices prior to the filing
deadline for the November 4, 1980 election, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect immediately upon its passage.
