AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE BIENNIAL ELECTION FOR
CITY ELECTIVE OFFICERS TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 4, 1980
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. On the 4th day of November, 1980, between
the hours of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o°clock p.m., Pacific
Standard Time, there shall be a biennial election with the City
of Central Point, Oregon, at which time and place the legal voters
of said City shall elect the following officers thereofa
1. Mayor
2. City Recorder
3. City Treasurer
4. One (1) Councilmember from Ward IV
5. Two (2) Councilmembers at large
Section 2. The precincts, precinct polling places and
judges and clerks of election shall be the same as those provided
within the City of Central Point, Oregon, for the statewide
general election to be held on the same date.
Section 3. The City Recorder is hereby authorized anal
directed to give notice of said election by posting the same in
three public places in the city, not less than ten (10) days
prior to the election, specifying the offices to be elected and
the date, time and places of holding said election.
Section 4. All candidates for said offices shall file
with the City Recorder on or before 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight
Time August 25, 1980 their certificate of nomination or petition

of nomination in accordance with the Charter and ordinances of
the city.
Section 5. This ordinance being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety
of the City of Central Point, Oregon, in order that information
relating to said election can be forwarded to the Jackson County
Clerk, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
shall be in full. force anal effect immediately upon its passage.
Passed by the Council and signed by me in authentication
