HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Resolution 756RESOLUTION NO. 7 5 RESOLUTION SCHEDULING BIENNIAL ELECTION OF CENTRAL POINT CITY OFFICERS ON NOVEMBER 5, 1996 WHEREAS, the Central Point City Charter provides that regular City elections shall be held at the same times. and places as biennial general state elections, and the next upcoming biennial state election is scheduled for November 5, 1996. Ncw, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The biennial election of the City of Central Point, Oregon, shall be held concurrently with the general election of the State of Oregon on November 5, 1996 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, at which election the City shall elect a mayor, one councilmember from Ward IV and two councilmembers from the City at large. Section 2. The precincts, precinct polling places and judges and clerks of election shall be the same as those provided within the City of Central Point, Oregon, for the statewide general election held on the same date. Section 3. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of said election, at least 10 days prior to the election, by posting notice thereof in a conspicuous place in the City Hall and in one public place in each voting precinct of the City. The notice shall state the officers to be elected, the ballot title of each measure to be voted upon and the time and place of the election. Section 4.
