AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING HEARING DATES AND MANNER OF NOTICE
FOR THE PROCESSING OF PROPOSED MAJOR REVISIONS TO THE CITY°S
COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN, COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE MAP, TEXT OF
THE ZONING ORDINANCE, AND ZONING MAP,. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City Council has declared its intent to amend the City°s
comprehensive land use plan, comprehensive land use map, text to the zoning.
ordinance, and zoning map pursuant to Council Resolution No. 425 now,
therefore,
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Processing of the proposed major revision to the City°s com-
prehensive land use plan, comprehensive land use map, text of the zoning ordi-
nance, and zoning. map now pending shall be processed through public hearings
before the Citizens Advisory Committee, the City Planning Commission and the
City Council at Council Chambers, City Hall,. Central Point, Oregon, in accor-
dance with the following schedule:
Citizens Advisory Committee
Planning Commission
City Council
7:00 p.m. August 14, 1984
7c00 p.m. September 4, 1984
7:00 p.m. September 20, 1984
Section 2. Publication of notice of said public hearings, including a
brief statement of the purpose of said hearings and of the times, dates and
places thereof, shall be given by publication in the Medford Mail Tribune, a
newspaper of general circulation within the City of Central Point, Oregon,
once each week for four consecutive weeks including at least once in the week
prior to the public hearing but not less than 24 hours prior to said hearing,
Posting of notices of public hearings before the Citizens Advisory Committee
and the Planning Commission shall be in three public places during the week
prior to said hearings.

Section 3. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health and safety of the City of Central Point, Oregon,.
based upon the need to submit the revised comprehensive land use plan, compre-
hensive land use map, text of the zoning ordinance, and zoning map to the Land
Conservation and Development Commission in a timely manner, second reading is
waived and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the Council and
approval by the Mayor.
