AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ASSESSMENT AGAINST PROPERTY
BENEFITTED, FOR THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF
CURBS, GUTTERS, STORM SEWERS, AND PAVING ON
SOUTH FIRST STREET FROM BUSH STREET TO CUPP DRIVE
WITHIN THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON
The City Council by Ordinance No. 1508 declared its intention
to construct curbs, gutters, storm sewers, and paving on South First
Street from Bush Street to Cupp Drive within the City of Central Point,
Oregon, and to assess each lot, or portion thereof, adjacent to and
benefitted by such improvements, its proportionate share of the cost
thereof, and
WHEREAS, said ordinance was duly posted and published as
required by lava, and a public hearing was held at the time and place set
by said ordinance for the purpose of considering any protest to the pro-
posed improvements and assessments therefor, and after consideration the
Council deemed the same to be of material benefit to the city and ad-
jacent property and did order the. improvement work to be done, now,
therefore,
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The estimated cost of the curbs, gutters, storm
sewers, and paving on South First Street from Bush Street to Cupp Drive
within the City of Central Point, Oregon is hereby determined to be the
sum of $161,000. including interest, inspection costs and adminis-
trative costs in the sum of $11,600. Said total sum of $161,000. is to
be paid as follows:
Amount to be paid by Central Point $ 15,000.
Amount to be paid by Jackson County $ 30,000.
Amount to be assessed against
benefitted property owners $116,000.

Section 2. The following described parcels of real property,
designated by Jackson County Tax Assessor's tax lot numbers, are bene-
fitted by the construction of said improvements in the full amount
indicated for each parcel as a proportionate .share of the total amount
to be assessed against all benefitted property, and the Council
proposes to make assessments for the cost thereof in the amount
indicated for each parcel:

Section 3. The City Administrator is directed to serve notice
of the proposed assessments set forth herein by mailing er personally
delivering notices to the owner s of each of the properties to be assess-
ed as set forth in Section 2 of this ordinance, setting forth the amount
of the proposed assessment and setting the 19th day of July, 1984 as the
date before which objections to such proposed assessments shall be filed

Section 4. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the City of
Central Point, Oregon, based upon the need for completion of construc-
tion during the construction season, and the need for payment to the
City in order to finance the improvements,. second reading is waived and
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the Council and
approval by the Mayor,
