AN ORDINANCE RENAMING CEDAR SHADOW WAY AS "SHADOW WAY"
1. On September 10, 2002, the homeowners association for the Cedar
Shadows Planned Unit Development held a vote and decided to rename the
private street within the subdivision from Cedar Shadows Way to "Shadow Way".
2. ORS 227.120 sets forth the procedure for cities to rename all or parts of
streets within the city. Such procedure includes consideration of the issue by the
Planning Commission. If the Planning Commission finds that renaming a street
is in the best interest of the City, the Planning Commission may recommend to
the City Council that such renaming be effected. The City Council may then give
public notice and conduct a hearing to consider the issue.
3. On October, 1, 2002, after considering the issue, the Central Point Planning
Commission recommended to the City Council that Cedar Shadows Way be
renamed "Shadow Way".
4. On October 10, 2002, the City Council held aduly-advertised public hearing
on the issue. The Council heard from all interested persons and discussed the
possible alternatives.
Now, therefore;
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to ORS 227.120, the private street known as Cedar
Shadows Way is hereby renamed "Shadow Way".
Section 2. A certified copy of this ordinance shall be filed for recording with
the county recorder, assessor, and surveyor.

Section 3. An emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall take effect immediately upon passage.
