HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Resolution 974RESOLUTION NO.~ ~~7 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT CLASSIFICATION PLAN WHEREAS, Chapter 2.48 of the Central Point Code authorizes and directs the City Council to adopt rules relating to personnel matters; and WHEREAS, The City Council has adopted such rules as the "City of Central Point Personnel Policies and Procedures" and has most recently revised those rules under Resolution No. 879 adopted on June 8, 2000; and WHEREAS, Section 4.1.1 of said rules requires that the duties and responsibilities of each employee of the City shall be approved by the City Council and recorded as the "Classification Plan" for the City of Central Point; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to make revisions to said Classification Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, that the revisions to the City of Central Point Classification Plan, attached hereto marked Exhibit A and by this reference incorporated hereto, be, and the same are, hereby ratified and adopted. Mayor Hank Williams CITY OF CENTRAL POINT PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT CLASSIFICATION: FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN POSITION TITLE: FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: From the work program assigned by the Public Works Director, carries out the work orders and assignments of the Public Works Director or his designated appointee. Performs the cleaning, maintenance, and minor repair work at City owned facilities, as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of the Public Works Director or his designated appointee. Independence of action is stressed in general performance of duties, with work reviewed on the basis of results obtained. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK: An employee in this classification may perform any of the following duties: Vacuuming carpets 2. Cleaning bathrooms 3. Sweeping & mopping floors 4. Dusting furniture and counters 5. Cleaning tables & chairs 6. Cleaning walls & ceilings 7. Washing windows 8. Painting and making minor repairs to City owned buildings, tools, and equipment 9. Other special projects, assignments, and duties as assigned by the Public Works Director or his designated appointee ~~ DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to receive instruction, learn and follow direction in the standard operational procedures of the Public Works Department including but not limited to, personnel policies, procedures, practices, safety standards and other rules and regulations as they pertain to the cleaning, maintenance, and minor repair work at City owned facilities. 2. Ability to commence and complete assigned tasks within a designated period after receiving initial and limited follow-up training/instruction in the methods, practices and procedures for accomplishing the work assigned. 3. Employee shall only require initial and limited follow-up training/instruction in the equipment operation, skills, practices and procedures involved with the work required. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Minimum required: High school degree or equivalent, with the ability to read, write and have arithmetic skills of a 12"'-grade level. NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid Oregon drivers license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE CLASSIFICATION: While performing the duties of this Classification, the employee is frequently required to reach, twist, bend, stoop, crouch, sit, lie down, kneel and extend to manipulate objects, tools, controls or other devices. The Classification requires mobility and the ability to traverse uneven surfaces. Duties typically involve manually moving materials up to 65 pounds and infrequently moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Character and flow of work involve normal mental and visual attenuation. WORKING CONDITIONS: The person in this position will be working alone and primarily at night. Where appropriate, personal protective equipment will be issued to the employee for use, with the employee being trained in its application and use. OJ
