A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RESULTS OF THE SEPTEMBER 19; 2000,
REFERENDUM ELECTION ON CITY ORDINANCE NO. 1806
Recitals
1. A city referendum election. was held on September 19; 2000, during which time
legal voters of the City of Central Point considered whether to repeal or retain City
Ordinance No. 1806, relating. to tobacco retail licenses and smoking restrictions;
2. Pursuant to state law, the Jackson County Clerk was the official election officer
for the Gity and has certified the results of said election, said certification having been
received on the 28`h day of September, 2000; and.
3. The City Charter requires that the City Council meet and canvass the returns of
said election at the first regularly scheduled meeting following receipt of the Jackson
County Clerk's certification of election results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BEIT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT,
OREGON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The votes cast by electors of the City of Central Point on the referendum
on City Ordinance No. 1806 at the election of September 19, 2000, aze hereby found,
determined and declared to be as follows:
YES 1,494
NO 2,639
TOTAL VOTES CAST 4,133
Section 2. The City Council. hereby certifies that the electors of the City of Central
Point have voted to retain City Ordinance No. 1806, relating to tobacco retail licenses and
smoking restrictions and declares that City Ordinance No. 1806 is thereby in full force and
effect as of September 25, 2000, the date the election results were certified by the Jackson
County Clerk..
