A RESOLUTION PROPOSING ANNEXATION TO
JACKSON COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT N0.3
WHEREAS, the City of Central Point and Jackson County Fire District No. 3 entered
into an agreement in 1996 which called for Jackson County Fire District No. 3 to provide
all fire protection and emergency medical services for the City; and
WHEREAS, such agreement states that the City and Jackson County Fire District No.
3 shall hold an election no later than November 7, 2000, to allow the voters to decide
whether the City shall be annexed into Jackson County Fire District No. 3; and
WHEREAS, bath agencies have carried out and continue to carry out all other
provisions of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, Oregon Revised Statutes 198.866 requires the City to adopt a resolution
or motion in order to proposed annexation. to a special district for the purpose of receiving
service from the district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON that the City of Central Point hereby proposes annexation
of all territory within, and hereafter annexed to, the boundaries of the City to be made part
of Jackson County Fire District No. 3 and that upon adoption of this resolution shall certify
a copy of the annexation proposal to the Board of Directors of Jackson County Fire District
No. 3 as provided in ORS 198.866.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon approval of the annexation proposal by the
Board of Directors of Jackson County Fire District No. 3, the annexation proposal shall be
submitted to the voters. as provided in ORS 198.866
