1. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER at 7:05 p.m. by Chairman Gilkey.
IL• ROLL CALL - Those present were Jan Dunlap, John LeGros, and Bob Gilkey.
III. CORRESPONDENCE -There was no correspondence.
IV, MINUTES - No changes were made in the minutes of May 22, 1997; they were approved by
consensus.
V. PUBLIC APPEARANCES - Christie deVilleneuve was present and she participated in the
discussions involved with the potential for a park and bike path in the area to be developed west
of Donna Way.
VI. BUSINESS
A. The Public Works Director and Chairman Gilkey diseussedthe status of the Rosewood,.: _.
Development and how it would be more prudent to delay. forming and meeting with the
neighborhood committee until after review of the appeals associated with the proposed
development.
B. The Public Works Director and Commissioner LeGros.discussed how $5,000 has been
appropriated from the General Fund Reserve and added to the General Services, Parks
Department budget to provide funds for the preliminary engineering and design of a
bike trail, par course, flood retention facility on First Street between Cupp Drive and
Freeman Road.
C. There was general discussion regarding potential park sites and trails in the area
proposed for development (Countryside Meadows 1, 2, and 3, and Quail Meadows)
west of Donna Way. The City Administrator discussed wetlands delineation and
mitigation. He also noted that the comprehensive plan does not identify any parks in
this area. He also suggested that the parks issue (i.e. modifications to the
comprehensive plan) should be brought up at the next Citizens Advisory Committee
meeting scheduled for July 8, 1997. However, he noted that any changes to the
comprehensive plan will not affect those development applications which have already
been submitted to the City.
