HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 27, 1970 248 PLANNING CO @MISSION REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 27., 1970 7:30 P.M. 1 Present: Jantzer, Backes, Langston, McManama, Novosad, George & Hull. Meeing was called to order by the Chairman, Bill Langston. 1 . At this time the new members of the Planning Commission were sworn in. New members are: Byron Backes, Ben McManama and Mitchell Hull. Minutes of the previous meeting were read. A, description of the property concerned was found to be in error, as it did not include the full amount of property affected by the requested change. Backes made a motion to accept the minutes, with a change of property description. 2nd by McManama. Motion carried. 2. . Mr. Bill-Langston was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Planning Commission for the coming year. 3. Reconsideration of Sidewalk requirements. Jantzer stated he would be willing to accept charge of a committee to further study this situation and report on it at a later date. This was accepted .and Ray Novosad, Ben McManama, and Mitchell Hull were appointed to this committee. 4. Public Hearing to amend the zoning map to extend Zone C-3 one block East. (Presently C-4). Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Straus were present to inquire about the type of business to be in this area and what effect it would have on the taxes of the property. Don Faber stated that two lots, which are owned by the Faber Estate, would be divided by this change as stated, and he felt they should be in the same zone. Either include the other lot in the change, or to delete. the first one from the request. A motion was made by Mr. Hull to delete the Faber lot from the Zone Change. 2nd by Novosad. Motion Carried. A motion was made by Jantzer to recommend to the Council that Zone C-3 be extended one block Fast, to include the described property, with the deletion of the Faber lot, from the area change. 2nd by Backes. Carried. Public Hearing.. To amend the zoning text to allow the sale of goods under Conditional Use Permits. Mr. Tucker read the Ordinance regarding Home Occupation and sale of goods. It was noted that should this change be aprroved by the Planning Commission and the City Council, it would allow the unrestricted sale of goods for Home Occupations. Novosad made a motion to recommend to the City Council a change in the zoning text. To delete Code Section 10-3 IV 4.200 (5) relative to sale of goods under Home Odcupations Conditional Use Permit. 2nd by Jantzer. Motion Carried. A motion was made by Jantzer to adjourn. 2nd by Novosad. Motion Carried. Time: 8:45 P.M. Ray Novosad, Sec. ,
