HomeMy WebLinkAboutDecember 30, 1969 247 PLANNING .COMt-ITSSION 8:00 P.M. RMULAR MEETING DECEMBER 30, 1969 Present: Jantzer, Langston, Cox, Novosad, George & Backes. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Bill Langston. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. 1 . Dr, Wayne Roberts appeared before the Planning Commission requesting a zone change for property owned by himself and Dr. Alvin Roberts. Property is described as being Lots 7 & 8 of Block 48, and Lots 5 & 6 of Block 47, of the Original Town of Central Point. The request is that Zone C -3 be extended one block East on Pine Street. From the center of the Black between 5th and 6th Street, to the Center of the Block between 6th and 7th Street. This would allow a retail business to operate on this property. It is presently C-4 Zone. A motion was made by Cox to call for a Public Hearing on this request, to be held on January 27, 1970. 2nd by Novosad. Motion Carried, 2. George Gilham, Building Inspector, brought to the attention of the Planning Commission the need for placing a Sewer "Clean-out" on the pro- perty line to better serve the City and the Property owner if a clean-out is needed. It was suggested that the Plumbing Code of Central Point be amended to this effect and should be installed by the Contractor on all new construction within the City. Each Step must be so stated so it will be understood by the Contractor. Clean-Out should be within 6" of the top of the ground. A motion was made by Jantzer to recommend to the City Council that Clean- outs for the sewer, on New Construction, be placed on the Property Line if possible, or at the Curb line if necessary. For existing lines on property, if the City is called to clean out the lines, a Clean-Out will be installed at the owners expense, as stated above. 2nd by Backes. Motion Carried. Lewis Cox presented his resignation as a member of the Planning Commission -due to conflict of interests. A discussion was held regarding Sidewalks in Subdivisions.- It was suggested they should be installed at time of Property Development and placed adjacent to the Curb. Backes made a motion to recommend to the City Council that Sidewalks be renuired at the time of Property development where curbs are in existence Where Curbs do not exist, the Building Official shall make the decisions regarding Sidewalks. Cost of Sidewalk to be at the Owners expense. A motion was made by Jantzer to adjourn. 2nd by Novosad. Motion Carried. 8:50 P.M. Ray Novosad, Sec.
