July 29, 1969
Present: Jantzer ' Langston, Cox, Novosad, and City Administrator,
Sterling Tucker.
Meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Bill Langston.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
1 . United Outdoor Sign Company, requesting a variance so they may erect
a sign for the Mobil Oil Company, on property owned by the Catholic
Church and extending to the West side of the Freeway. . According to the
City Zoning Ordinance, and approved use of R-1-8, this sign would not
be permitted. A zone change for this request would not be in the best
interest of the City or the immediate area.
A motion was made by Jantzer that this property not be recommended for
zone change. 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. The representatives
of the Sign Company were instructed that they may appear before the City
Council at their regular meeting and plead their cause, if they so wish.

Alder Street and also 101 on Ash Street, between Front and First, be

Fence, 6' in height, with privacy slats, on the N. E. Corner of the Block,
at 1st and Alder Street, without having to wait for the next regular
Commission meeting. 2nd by Cox. Motion Carried.
3. Discussion was held on Subdivision Ordinances. It was suggested that
a copy of the Subdivision Ordinance be sent to the Subdivider before he
starts Official work on subdividing. This should help: prevent any speci-
fications being overlooked, or neglected.
4. It was noted that nothing has been d one on a suggestion, presented by
Lorain Tate, some time ago, relative to the renaming of South 4th Street,
and South 5th Street, South of Hopkins Road. These Streets are very hard to
find as they are not continuous straight through.
