PLANNING COMMISSION January 30, 1968
REGULAR MEETING 8:00 P.M.
Members Present- Jant' er, Cox, Langston, Novosad, Ray George, and
the City :Administrator, Freeman Mason.
Absent: Taylor and Bruce.
Meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Lew Cox, at 8:00 P.M.
Minutes cf the previous meeting were read and approved.
1 . Mr. and Mrs. William Mintz, 413 South First Street, Central Point,
appeared before the Commission to request permission to operate a
Beauty Shop in their home, as an "In-Home" business. This shop would
be installed in the garage portion of the. residence and would be
sealed off from the living quarters, and would have no connecting
doorways or entrances. Mr, and Mrs. Mintz assured the Commission that
the shop would conform to all rules and Ordinances of the City and
also the State Code of the Board of Cosmetology, for shop operation.
A motion was made by Jantzer to accept thi.s request and send it to
the Council with the approval of the Planning Commission. 2nd by '
Langston. .'notion Carried.
2. Each member iras to read the Medford Sign Ordinance and pi.ck out the
features he felt should be added to the Grants Pass Sign Grdi.nance
to adopt for this City. In doing this, it was decided that very- little
could be left out and still have a good, complete ordinance.
A motion was made b,-? Langston to adopt the Medford Sign Ordinance to
become the Sign Ordi.nance for the City of Central Point, and send it to
the Counci_1. 2nd by Jantzer. Motion Carried.
A motion was made by Langston to Adjourn. 2nd by Novosad. Motion
Carried. 9:23 P.M.
