HomeMy WebLinkAboutJune 27, 1967 2 F3 ' PLANNING COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING June 27, 1967 Present: Cox, Taylor, Novosad, Jantzer, and Bruce. Meeting was called to order by the chairman, Lew Cox, at 7:30 P.M. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. 1 . This was a Public Hearing for a Zone change from Residential to Commercial, to allow the placing of a Bowling Alley on property South of West Pine Street, and between Glenn hay and Griffin Creek. Most of the residents of that area were present to voice opposition to this change. None of the property owners felt that it would benefit their property as homesites to have a bowling alley in the area. Some of the objections given were, traffic, noise, cuts off view, also would cut off breeze from many homes, and trash accumulation from the parking areas. Residents agreed that multiple dwellings would be much more agreeable than a 'Dowling alley. After a discussion of the subject, a vote was taken of those present. Results: 14 against the change, 1 for the change. A. motion was made by Jantzer to deny the zone cha:ice at this time. 2nd by Novosad, Motion Carried. 2. A motion was made by Jantzer to set the meeting time for the Planning Commission at 8:00 P.M. instead of 7:30 P.M. 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. 3. A motion was made by Bruce to adjourn. 2nd by Jantzer. Motion carried, 8: 12 P.M. Norman Bruce, Secretary.
