PLANNING COMMISSION '
REGULAR MEETING .
MAY 31 , 1967
Present: Cox, Langston, Noel., Novosad, Jantzer, and Bruce.
Meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Lew Cox, at 7:30 P.M.
1 . Mr. John Henderson, representing the McKenzie Agency, Medford,
Oregon; desiring a zone change, from residential to commercial, to
allow their client to build a Bowling Alley in Central Point. The
boundaries of the property in question are: From West Pine Street
South to Snowy Butte Road; and from Glenn Way, Nest to Griffin Creek.
This property will allow for a 16 lane Bowling Alley, with room for
expansion to 24 lanes; plus room for pool tables. The remainder
of the property will be utilized at a later date for other recrea-
tional projects. Some of the possibilities are: A Golf-O-Rama,
Swimming -Pool and an Ice Skating Rink. After a discussion, it was
decided that a time limit of 1 year should be stipulated for the
installation of the Bowling alley.
A motion was made by Jantzer to call. for a Public Hearing on a 'Lone
change for the property in question from Residential to Commercial.
2nd by Langston. Motion Carried. ,
2. Report from Freeman Mason on information received from the League
of Oregon Cities concerning sign Ordinances, and fee schedules. Copies
of four Ordinances from the following Cities were received: Medford,
Lake Oswego, Sweet Home, and Hillsboro. Inasmuch as the League re-
commends the Lake Oswego Ordinance, copies will be made for all mem-
bers to read and a special planning commission meeting will be held
Wednesday, June 7, 1967 for the purpose of ciiscussing the Lake Oswego
Ordinance and its adaptability, in whole or in part, for the City of
Central Point.
As there was-.no further business, a motion was made by Jantzer to ad-
journ. 2nd by Langston. Motion Carried.
