HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 31, 1967 20:x; PLANNING COMMISSION ' REGULAR MEETING January 31 , 1967 The meeting'was called to order by the Chairman, Lew Cox, at 7:30 P.M. This was a joint meeting with the City. Council. . All members were present with the exception of Norman Bruce, Secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by.Mr. Jantzer, and approved as read. The first item for discussion being the sewer line on West Pine Street, which was built by Myron Corcoran for his subdivision in that area. Since this 'line would.eventually be used by Mr. Meade for the develop- ment of his subdivision, Mr. Corcoran wishes reimbursement for a por- tion of the cost of the line from Mr. Meade. After the study and inter- pretation of Ordinance 723, section 4, by Mr. Bill Warren, Lngineer, it was decided that no reimbursement would be necessary, as further construction would be necessary before it could be used. A .motion.was made by Novosad to the effect that no'reimbursement'would be due Mr. Corcoran from Mr. Meade. 2nd by Jantzer. Motion Carried. A request from Archie Purdy, to permit the placement of a temporary class- room building on the South side of the property of the Presbyterian Church at Oak and First Street. Since this would need study of the zoning area, type of building to be constructed, and the length of time of need of.the temporary structure, more time would be needed for a decision. A motion was made.by Jantzer to table this item until further information could be , obtained concerning this building. 2nd b;t Langston. Motion carried. Mr. Dale Bartley, Mayor, explained the new Proposed 'Z,oning.Ordinance. It was decided to ask Mr. Freeman Mason to call a meeting with Mr. Brenner, the Planning Commission and all interested Councilmen, for a study of this Ordinance and then present it for a Public Hearing at a later date. Realtors, Local Builders, Banker, and any interested Merchants, would be asked to the meeting. Jantzer made a motion to call for this meeting. 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. Mr. Dale Bartley suggested that the Planning .Commission should have name plates. Jantzer made a motion to requisition the City for these plates. 2nd by Langston. Motion carried. Mr. Bartley suggested that a "Book of Procedures" for the Council and the Planning Commission should be procured. Mrs. Lorain Tate presented a set of procedures which have already been started. As there was no further business, a motion was made by Langston to adjourn. 2nd by Noel. Motion Carried. 9:05 Y.M. Norman Bruce, Secretary.
