Public hearing on the request of Roy L. Rinnan for zone variance from Residential to' Multiple Dwelling on 8th and Manzanita Streets. N. E, Corner. No objections were presented to the request. A Motion was called for to allow the request and send to the Council for Approval. Motion by Jantzer, 2nd by Bruce. Motion carried. James A. Gardner, 260 N. 5th Street, petitioned the Commission to allow an "in home" Radio and Television Repair Shop. Motion by. Bruce, 2nd b;; Novosad, to accept this petition. Motion carried. A study of the Proposed Thrift [Jay Shopping Center. Plans presented- and explained by Mr. Cochran. Building, 26,400 sq. ft. would house Van Wey's Thrift Market, Paulsen and Gates Appliances, and a Drug and Variety Store. There would be 39,600 so. ft. of parking space. Motion made for tentative approval of the parking space. Motion by Novosad,, 2nd by Tons, notion carried. John Bruce requested a variance for the Depth of Lots, for a subdivision on N. 10th Street. Discussion and Study of the plat plans. A motion was called for to allow this variance. Motion by Tonn, 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. , Harold and Irene Kinney, requesting approval to conduct a Kindergarten at their residence, 715 Laurel Street. No new structure will be built as they will con- vert their garage to this use. As there were no objections presented, a motion was called for to tentatively approve this request, subject to the approval of the State Fire Marshal of the Building. Motion by Jantzer, 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. Plat plan of the construction of the Gulf Oil Company (McKimens & Zieser Properties) were presented and discussed. This "over—all" plan had been presented to the Council and was accepted July 25, 1966. Approval was needed for the requirements for development of this area. After discussion of the requirements, a motion was made to approve the requirements as stated. Motion by Jantzer, 2nd by Tonn. Motion carried. Motion made by Tonn, 2nd by Bruce for Adjournment.
