PLANNING C01,1MISSION
SPECIAL, MEETING '
June 6, 1966
Present: Jantzer, Tonn, Cox, Langston, Novosad, and Bruce.
Meeting was called to order by .the chairman, Lew Cox.
Reading.of the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with.
Mrs. dorothy McGrath presented a new set of plans for the parking
problem for the Kight residence and the Shamrock Apartments. This plan
was by Mr. Brenner, but not to a definite scale as it was stated.must
be done before any further action. A motion was made by Jantzer that the
Planning Commission go to the property and measure the exact footage to
be studied. 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. Time was set to be Wednesday
June 8, 1966, at 6:30 P.M. Mrs. Eva Kight then requested this be done on
Tuesday before time for the Council Meeting. It was stated that this would
be done Wednesday evening, as planned.
Mr. William Colley petitioned the Planning Commission for a zone variance
from Residential zone 1 to Commercial zone 2, for the McKimens and the User
properties located on East Pine Street, Central Point, Oregon, to allow for
a Service Station, Motel and Restaurant complex to be built on these pro-
perties. Full description of the property and the signed petitions were
presented to the Commission as stated. Motion called for to request a public
hearing on this petition. Motion made by Jantzer, -2nd by Bruce. Motion
Carried.
Mr. Frank Koch petitioned the Planning Commission for a zone variance for
his property at 1st and Cedar Street, Block 18, Lots 8 & 9, of the Original
Town of Central Point, from Residential zone 1 to Commercial zone 2, to
allow a group of Motel Apartments to be built on this site. The building
plan of this unit would require Commercial zoning. It was suggested that Mr.
Koch send a set of plans to the State Fire Marshal, to be sure of the allowed
building materials for this type of unit. No action on plans at this time.
A motion was called for to have a Public Hearing for the zone variance of
the Koch property. Motion made by Jantzer, 2nd by Langston. . 'Motion carried.
Mrs. Dotothy McGrath and Mrs. Eva Kight presented another set of plans for
the Kight property. . This set of plans were drawn to Engineers scale, (Millimeter) .
A letter from Mr. Brenner, was read by Lew Cox. Letter stated there should
be ample parking space for all.
Due to continued demand for action on these plans, a. motion was made for the
Commission to measure the property on Tuesday evening instead of Wednesday.
Motion made by Jantzer, 2nd by Novosad. Motion carried. Property to be
measured at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, 6-7-66.
As there was no further business, a Motion was made to adjourn.
