HomeMy WebLinkAboutMarch 29, 1966 1-8 7 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING CITY HALL March 29,1966 Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Chet Ayres. Members present: Ayres, Cox Jantz er,Noel,Tonn,Langston. Absent:N. Bruce. Minutes of the Feb. 22,1966; meeting were read and approved. Mr. Burl Johnson wants Lot 5 and 6,Block 9,0riginal Town, rezoned to build a doctor's medical center. This proposal was submitted by Roy Hageman. Motion by Noel, second by Cox to call for public hearing on the above property to rezone from Zone I,residential to Zone II,Coimnercial at our next regular meeting,April 26,1966. Carried. Ken Curtis presented plans for addition to his apartment house at 231 W. Pine Street. His original plan was 11 units and will now be changed to 12 units. A motion by Cox, second by Noel, to grant Ken Curtis permission to build 12 units unstead of 11 units in the same ground coverage of the Building. Variance for 2 foot set-back rear yard denied. Must be 5 foot set-back in rear yard: Motion carried. Mrs. Germann's property discussion. Bill Warren,Eng., suggested an 8 inch water line instead of 6 inch. He recommended that the city pay the difference between 6 inch water line and 8 inch water line. Property owners to share cost of 6 inch line. The sewer line has already been worked out. It will be an 8 inch sewer line, which is minimum. Mr. Warren has done the preliminary engineering on this property. Mr. N.A. Mead presented a plat and petition to annex a new sub-division on the West end of Pine Street. (WEST PINE VILLA) The sewer can be pumped south to Pine Street or run gravity to Pine Street at Jackson Creek, which seems to be the best route. An easement will be obtained from Krupp to run the gravity, however. A motion by Jantzer, second Tom, to recommend to the city council to approve the above annexation of the WEST PINE VILLA Subdivision of N.A. Mead's on West Pine Street. Motion carried. A motion by Tonn, to accept the preliminary plat of the West Pine Villa subdivision presented by N.A. Mead, second by Cox. Motion carried. A mistake might have been made in Ordinance No. 760, Fence Ordinance. In Section 3, paragraph A, street line will be changed to property line and in Section 2, paragraph c, the fence height will be changed from 4 feet . to 3 feet to conform with the ordinance. The planning commission recommends that the city council take action on this ordinance change at the earliest convenience. A motion by Tonn, second by Noel to elect Lou Cox for Planning Commission chairman. 5 for, 1 against. Motion carried. 1 l i 188 Ray Novasad is recommended by the Planning Compission to replace Chet Ayres, who wds. appointed to the. council. Meeting adjourned at 9:U5 p.m. by Chairman Ayres.
