HomeMy WebLinkAboutApril 27, 1965 17 Q, CITY HALL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING April 27, 1965 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Chairman Harry Tonn. The minutes .of March 30,1965 were read and approved. Members present: Tonn, Noel, Jantzer,, Ayres. Public Hearing was held on Mr. Hall's multiplex on the corner of 4th and Ash. There_were.no objections. Mr. Glass's varience was turned down. A petition was presented by Floyd Ditch to have property west of 10th and north of Hazel (legal description attached) .annexed .into the city. A motion by Jantzer and second by Ayres to accept this annexation and present it to the city council for approval. Motion -carried. Mr. R. E, _Romine presented a petition to have his ,property annexed into the City of Central-Point. His property is the Jake Meyers property east of 3rd Street, north of Mazama. The Planning Commission decided to take his property in only if all- the'property south to Mazama comes in with him. If his property is annexed by itself, it will create an island of county land within the city which is not a good practice.. Mr. Brenner of the Jackson County Planning Commission presented a proposed urban planning assistance project cost breakdown. It will cost the City of Central. Point $500.00. £or,.its share of the $40500.00 total for the project . A committee of two, Jantzer and Ayres, was appointed to work with Mr. Brenner and a committee from the city council on this city urban planning program. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P. M. by Chairman Tonn. Signed: Jantzer Secretary y� i CITY OF CENTRAL POINT ! �° Proposed Urban Planning Assistance (701) Project This planning project for the City of Central Point will make use of the gen- eral mapping, land use and zoning work prepared under the Bear Creek Urban Region projects and will give detailed emphasis to provide the basis for a comprehensive plan for this rapidly growing city. 1) Base Ma s. Preparation of base maps at various appropriate scales such as 400, 200, 100 and 50 feet to the inch) and adapting the various airphotos to the city needs. These base maps will supple- ment the valley maps prepared under the Bear Creek Urban Region pro- jects. 2) Land Use Study. Up date and refine the data collected in the re- gional study; replot with different emphasis. Preparation of a pre- liminary land use plan. Provision for staff attendance and assist- ance at the many hearings and meetings. 3) Zoning Ordinance. Adapt the general zoning work being done as part of the regional studies to the needs of the City of Central Point. Provision for staff assistance at the many sessions in preparing f the ordinance and the various hearings to consider and adopt these L• regulations will be made.
