HomeMy WebLinkAboutAugust 7, 1961 119 Special Planning Commission Meeting August 7, 1961 Meeting opened at 7:40 by Chairman Bartley. Members present: William, Tonn, King, Bartley, Jantzer. Minutes of July 24, 1961 read and approved. A letter from the State Speed Control Board was read. It pertained to a fixed speed limit on Freeman road from Pine to Hopkins road. Recommended speed is 30 m.p.h. According to investigation it is not necessary. A motion was made by Tonn, seconded by King to take no action on this matter. Motion carried. An affidavit of public hearing was read concerning putting a duplex in a Zone I Section of the city at Fourth and Grand. There was a discussion of one duplex on one lot and what. is to be the intended purpose of the remainder of the property. The plan in question is of legal size to leave 65% of lot vacant. The plan seems feasable. if the duplex is built nice enough to fit the neigh- borhood. A motion made by Tonn, seconded by Jantzer to grant permission to Harley Dresseler to build a duplex on Lot 11 Block 1 (4th & Grand) Motion carried. There was a discussion of Frank Koch--rezoning of property (East half of block between Cedar & Ash) to commercial. After much discussion a motion was made by Tonn, seconded by King, to recommend a circulation of a petition by Frank Koch to be signed by property owners within 300 ft. of said property.
