Central Point Planning Commission 25 April 1960
Members present: Bartley, Tonn, Bruce, Noel , Smock
The meeting was opened at 7:45 P.M. by Chairman Dale Bartley. Minutes of the
last meeting Mere read and approved.
George Johns requested information concerning the possibility of having a
part—time beauty salon in his home at 248 3rd St. It was decided to table the
matter until it could be checked, and to present a recommendation to the City
Council by May 3rd.
Mayor Mason reported that the Council felt $500 could be included in the budget
for repair of the grandstand, however, nothing had been definitely decided yet.
Moved by 'Conn, 2nd Bruce, that we recommend to the Council that the building
ordinance be changed so that a building on a corner lot be required to be set
back twenty feet on both streets. Carried.
Moved by Lovejoy, 2nd Noel, that we do not vacate the alley :::of block 6 of the
original town. Carried.
Moved by Tonn, 2nd Lovejoy, that the City Council be requested to ask Jackson
county for the triangular piece of property at Alaple and 10th. ' Carried. It
seems that the county owns this property and is willing to give it to the city.
Moved and seconded that we approve an 80 foot width on the extension of lst St.
in the Cupp sub—division as requested by the Jackson County Planning Commission.
Carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
