The meeting was called to order promptly at the appointed
hour of 7:30 P.M. and roll call immediately directed. Roll
call by the secretary brought responses from 6 of 7 mem-
bers'as recorded above. The minutes of the last meeting of
Aug.21, 1957, were read and approved without change or
alteration.
Old business was then called for-of which none was brought
up except a_ reminger by Commissioner Krupp, that a certain
petition for vacation of a section of an alley on the south
side of Pine Street between Front Street and First Street
should be considered open and active since the interested
parties are still interested, and that while the petition
is tabled by the Commission, it will yet be considered.
Thereupon Comm. Pres. instructed a member to call the petition- ,
ers and request their presence. Mr. Carl T. Nelson did appear
and presented his plea. After much discussion, including
comment on past experience with vacations of public properties,
relative benfits to the pleaders as opposed to city uses, return
of the property to tax rolls , etc. , the petition was again
tabled and the Pres. thereupon appointed a committee of three
members of which committee the Comm. Pres. Freeman Mason was
one , Comm. Joe Krupp the second, and Comm. Bowers the third ,
to view the area and report its findings at the next meeting.
Of new business , the first item was presentation tentative
plat of Agate Extension No. l by the owner-subdivider, Mr.
M.F. Hoover. Many questions were asked of Mr. Hoover with
respect to deviations from previous plats, connections of
proposed roads with existing roads or other previously
proposed roads, sanitation, and other provisions, Comm.. Love-
joy moved that the preliminary plat be accepted without
notation or non-conforming conditions. Comm. Bowers seconded
the motion and it was carried by unanimous voice vote. The
plat is therefore marked "Exhibit-A, Meeting of Sept. 9,1957,"
and the plat is accepted as preliminary recording.
There being no other business before the meeting, Comm.
Lovejoy offered a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Comm.
Bowers. Carried.
