Meeting called to order by President Wm Askwith at 8:00 PM sharp.
Roll Call brought response from those members shown present above,
consti:titamg a quorum for ligitimate business acts. -
President Askwith then called for reading of minutes of the last
regular meeting, held October 10, 1955. Reading was given and on
: motion of Commissioner Joe Krupp, seconded by L. P. Lovejoy, those
minutes were approved as read without change or correction.
New business was then called for, bringing up the person of Attorney
Roy Bashaw, representing Mr. John Cupp, requesting Planning Commissions
consideration of:.petition for vacation of certain indicated roadways
in "Snowey Butte Orchards", those dedicated 20 foot roadways platted
.between lots E and F, E and P. 0 and P. and X and Y. being the four
for which vacation is requested by John Cupp as owner. Attorney
Bashaw conveys a request that the Planning Commission submit a letter
to the Jackson County Court, recommending vacation of those roadways~
and t:e Commission thereupon discussed pros and cons of such vacation.
After judging the merits and lack of merits of holding the dedication
as platted, the Commission, upon the motion of Commissioner Joe Edwards
seconded by Commissioner L. P. Lovejoy, voted unanimously to authorise
:said lettero and to authorize the Commission President and Secretary
to sign that letter as provided by law applying to sudh acts of this
body. Motion carried.
Next appeared Mr. 1�. F. Hoover with his preliminary plat of L tus
Subdivision Extention No. 2. Copy of the preliminary plat is filed w
with the Planning Commission and is marked "Exhibit A, 211315611.
Motion was made by Commissioner Leland Dysinger, seconded by Commissioner
Joe Krupp, and passed by unanimous aye vote, that the plat be accepted
for Commission record.
Next to appear before the -Commission were Mr. Donald E. Faber and
Arden Pinkham, Mayor and "ecorder, repectivly, of the City of Central
Point, to present certain requests for Commission recommendations for
guidance of the Council. In essence, the Common Council asks the
Commission- .to . study all angles pertaining thereto and recommend (1)
minimum and maximum street widths ; (2) distance between curbs ; (3 )
width and location of sidewalks; (4) thickness and type of street
surfacing and sidewalks ; ( 5) sewer and water facilities;' (6) methods
of financing facilities (1) through ( 5) . After some discussion around
the table, President:'-Askwith set February 27th, 1956 at 7:30 PM
as date of a special meeting to consider and act on this request.
There being no further business for consideration, motion was made
by Commissioner Dysinger that the meeting adjourn, seconded by
Commissioner Krupp and carried. 9:40 PM
