Meeting called to order by President Bill Askwith at 7:45 PM.
Members present as shown above.
Reading of minutes of last regular meeting of August 8, 1954
was directed, and the minutes approved without change or correction.
A motion was made to nominate and elect officers, namely president
and secretary for the 1955 term. Wm Askwith was nominated for president
by Krupp, the nomination seconded by Edwards. Motion carried by un-
animous vote. Leland Dysinger was nominated for secretary by Obenchain
and seconded by Lovejoy. Motion carried by unanimous vote. These
candidates, unapposed for the respective offices, were -then duly "elected
by voice vote.
Bud .M.- Smith was present to present his final plat of La Cresta
Subdivision. This°subdivision Plat was tentavily approved at the
meeting of September 28, 1953 . Final approval was given and the sub-
division Plat and map was approved and signed by the Planning Commission,
President and Secretary in their official capacity in accordance'. with
provisions applying thereto.
Other new business presented was consideration of East Manzanita
Street for access to the new elementary school grounds. The problem`'
was discussed and in view of the deeply involved circumstances existing
within the area where East Manzanita Street and North Ninth Street would
norma31y intersect, Motion was made by Commissioner Joe Edwards, seconded
by Commissioner Joe Krupp, to table the question pending further study.
Motion carried without dissenting vote.
Next new business presented was an informal consideration of
recommendation by F H A conderning street widths in residential districts,
the recommendation applying in particular to Bigham Drive in Oak Knoll
subdivision , said recommendation refers to Data Sheet 61-3$-101, FHA
Lan Planning Bulletin No. 3 , Standard 101B, Specification 5b, applying.
to street widths in which the pavement width is set at 28 feet, with
5Feet parking strips, 5 ft. sidewalks, and 1 ft. margin between sidew, ls.
and property lines. After due consideration of street use, parking
problems, pedestrian and vehicle traffic, ets, this Commission goes on
record as opposing streets of less than 38 ft. pavement width.
No other business was brought before the meeting, in consequence
of which Commissioner Obenchain moved for adjourment, the motion
seconded by Commissioner Edwards and carried. 9:30 PM
