Tide meeting , was called to order_,oy President Bigham at
8: 30 pm. Roll call showed members present as ' i•ecorded above'.
Minutes of the last legal .meeting on May 26,1952 were read and
approved.
wayor Burelson reported verbally to the 'Commission that
tae problem of extension of. Oak Street tnru the Ed Sullivan
property has been solved and Oak Street laid' out and graded
and is as of this date satisfactorily developed: ,
hir. John W. Runyan then appeared beiore `the body with a
plan for building a home on his 'proyerty •at 43 N. : Amy Street
by adding to an existing building formerly used-'as a grainary.
Tae grainary is set oil concrete biocks, -and- when advised that - t....
the Building Code requires , a concrete, foundation and a set=back
of 5 feet from the alley, Mr: Runyan decided to abandon his
plan !'or the present.The matter was tihereupon tabled, with tine
plans left with the Commission- marked'"Exhibit`Al1l' September 29,
1952-Considerable discussion was -pursued 'concerning set=backs
and several contentions tfA" .various otiher provisions and
requirements of the Buildihig. ;ode and Zoniiig, - rdinance; no
conclusions being reacned .except that basic rulings are a nec '
essary evil; and that it is not consistent policy to alter those-
codes to ,suit each individual .problem.
The motion was made by Askwitn;seconded by Edwards that
the meeting adjourn. The motion carried. 9:40 pm.
