Meeting of Planning Commission _ May 283 1951
The meeting was called -to order by Bigh.am at '8 :30p,m. '

The meeting was .'opened with discussion of new advice from
City Attorney. Bengston. Cutlining nec^ssary proceedire in pre-
sent.i.nz zoning ordinance to the City Council.The 'Cominis:si.nn' is
advised that a letter must be prepared advising the Council that
the Pl.anrn r Commission ' s public hearing has been hela ; that the
ordinance was there presented and no opposition encountered ; that
the Crntnci.l' is therefore advised that the Commissi'on;ha?rin properly
acquitted itself of- the renuirements 'of law.r. eauests the Council
to afford interested persons and the -general public at, la-rge an
onnortiini_ty to present their interests and views.City Attorney
Bengston' ^ offico to formulate and- write this letter and to in
Corporate its substance in the required notice of public hearing
was accept.,ed by vote, and the matter thereupon. was tabled pending
this accomnlis! ment. -
Gene Waterman made a motion that the problem of"improvements
to nrnnosed " haskell Park" be offered to the Central Point
Garden Cliib, ' asking that club` to- plan for landscaping , for all.
plant! n� s of trees shrubs , and flowers ; for-"pathways and road- '
ways , for recr. ea-ti6nal fa.cilities' and if deemed by that club
in collaboration with the planning. rommicston to be fitting and
proper . zoning for various uses within the Park_ itself.=Eo_ldinr.
however. , that any and all, plans and proposals shall first -be
considered and approved by the Commission in proper ' session.The
motion was second. by Maier. Carriedd by unanimous vote.
There-being no futhur business .motion was, made by Ma_i.=^r and.
second. by Kn,.pp that the meeting Adjourn. The motion carried..
