HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay 1, 1984 City of Central Point Planning Commission Meeting May 1, 1984 - 7:00 p.m. Page 1 MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Chairman Frederick called the meeting to order at 7: 11 p.m. ROLL CALL .. Present were Chairman Orrin Frederick and Commissioners Ginger Bitterling, Jerry Mattey and Charles Piland. Absent were Commissioners Reed Barlow and Garth Ellard. Also present were Fire Chief/Building Official Don Paul and Secretary Maureen Tanhoff. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Piland made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 3, 1984 Planning Commission meeting as presented. Commissioner Bitterling seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Bitterling, yes; Mattey, yes; Piland, yes. All of the Commissioners voted in favor of the motion and the motion carried. CORRESPONDENCE AND PUBLIC APPEARANCES No correspondence was presented and no public appearances were made at this meeting. BUSINESS Site Plan Review for a Carport at 132 North Front Street, Central Point, Located in a C-5 Zone, Jackson County Assessor's Map 37 2W 3DD, Tax Lots 6700 and 6800 - Owner, Art Adams Building Official Paul outlined his staff report dated April 26, 1984 and listed the following exhibits: Exhibit A - Notice of Public Meeting; Exhibit B - Certificate of Posting of Notice of Public Meeting; Exhibit C - plat map of the property; and Exhibit D - aerial map of the property. Mr. Paul also distributed photographs taken of the property. He stated that the proposed carport will be in line with the existing building and will not encroach upon any setbacks. Chairman Frederick opened the public meeting. There was no one present to speak in favor of or against the carport. Chairman Frederick closed the public meeting. Chairman Frederick asked if the carport will have any type of wall or enclo- sure around it. Mr. Paul stated that there are walls on two sides only. Chairman Frederick asked how long Mr. Adams has been in business at that loca- tion. It was estimated that he has been there at least 15 years. It was agreed that Mr. Adams has always maintained the site in a neat manner and kept the structure in good repair. City of Central Point Planning Commission Meeting May 1, 1984 - 7:00 p.m. Page 2 Commissioner Bitterling made a motion to approve the site plan review for a carport at 132 North Front Street, Central Point, located in a C-5 zone, Jackson County Assessor's Map Page 37 2W 3DD, Tax Lots 6700 and 6800, at the rear of Adams' Garage. Commissioner Mattey seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Bitterling, yes; Mattey, yes; Piland, yes. All of the Commissioners voted in favor of the motion and the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS Commissioner Mattey asked about the outcome of the consideration to establish a City ordinance regulating satellite dishes. Chairman Frederick stated that the City Council decided to table the issue because it was felt there is not a real need for an ordinance at this time. Chairman Frederick asked about the status of the Hopkins Road L.I.D. payments that are delinquent. Mr. Paul explained that presently the Rogue Valley Development Group, developers of the property, are attempting to satisfy the lien. It is also felt that once the sale of The Village is completed, it will help the situation. After one year, the City has the right to foreclose on the property and have it sold, but the City wants to work with the developer to resolve this situation. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Piland made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Bitterling seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Bitterling, yes; Mattey, , yes; Piland, yes. All of the Commissioners voted in favor of the motion and the motion carried. Chairman Frederick adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
