Home My WebLink AboutMay 19, 1981 Planning Commission Meeting City Hall Council Chambers May 19, 1981 MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Chairman Jean Hillyer called the meeting to order at 7:10 P.M. ROLL CALL Commissioners present were George Freeman, Jean Hillyer, Pat Himmelman and Louise Novasad. Also present were Mayor Don Jones and Councilmembers Paul Golding, Dick Halley, Donna Higginbotham and Ron Holmgren. City Staff present was Administrator David Kucera. Rogue Valley Council of Governments Planner Ron Hough was also present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES May S 1981. Planning Commission Meeting A motion was made by Louise Novasad to approve the minutes. A second to the motion was made by Pat Himmelman. All Commissioners voted yes with the excep- tion of Commissioner Freeman who abstained. The motion carried. CORRESPONDENCE Chairman Jean Hillyer presented a letter of Resignation from Commissioner Theda Havice who will be attending classes on the same nights as Planning Commission Meetings. Her letter of resignation was regretfully accepted. PUBLIC APPEARANCES No one appeared OLD BUSINESS None was scheduled NEW BUSINESS None was scheduled MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS A discussion was held on Council Ordinance 4k 1432 providing for Mayoral Appointment of Planning Commission Chairperson and Vice Chairperson which was passed by the City Council May 14, 1981. Mayor Jones explained the Ordinance and the reasons he felt the ordinance was necessary to promote better attitudes, respect and consideration toward applicants before the Planning Commission. A motion was made by Commissioner Himmelman to adjourn. A second to the motion was made by Commissioner Freeman. All Commissioners voted yes and the motion carried. Chairman Hillyer adjourned the meeting at 8:20 P.M.
