HomeMy WebLinkAboutMarch 18, 1980 Minutes March 18, 1980 - Planning Commission Meeting Central Point,Council Chambers I. Meeting was called to order by Chairman Nordby at 7:30 p.m. II. Roll call found Chairman Nordby, Commissioners Hillyer, Thelen, and Stallsworth present. Member MacDonald notified the Planning Commission by telephone that he would be unable to attend this nights meeting. Others present were: City Administrator-Dave Kucera, Building Official-Planning Director-R.J. Ritchey, Pat Himmelmen, Joy Dixon, Michele Young, Richard Orr, and Planning Commission Secretary-Georg Stotler-de Ruyter. Two new Planning Commission Members, appointed by the City Council on March 13, 1980 were sworn in by City Administrator Kucera. Pat Himmelman will be filling Position #6 which expires January 1, 1981. Joy Dixon will be filling Position #7 which expires January 1, 1982. III. Motion by Thelen, second by Hillyer to approve the Minutes of the March 4, 1980 Planning Commission Meeting. All in favor, motion carried. IV. No Correspondence Public Appearances 1 Michele Young, 2735 Heritage Road, Central Point introduced herself and Richard Orr, 1886 Marys Way, Central Point as representatives of the Jackson County Home Builders Association, and expressed their interest and willingness to involve themselves in Planning Commission activities in Central Point. They are especially interested in working with Georg Stotler-de Ruyter and the Solar Access Implementation. V. Old Business A. Adoption of Resolution #10, a Resolution of Recommendation of Approval to Grant a Minor Partition of Land. 1767 North Third Street, J.C. 14ap Page 37-2W-3AB, Tax Lot 5000, Dennis Kotke, Applicant. There was no discussion. Motion by Hillyer to approve Resolution #10 as written, second by Thelen. Roll call vote found all in favor. Motion carried. B. Adoption of Resolution #11, a Resolution of Recommendation of Intent to Amend the Text of the Zoning Ordinance to Allow Enlargement of Nonconforming Uses. . There was no discussion. Motion by Hillyer to approve Resolution #11 as written, second by Stallsworth. Roll call vote found all in favors Motion carried. Minutes Planning Commission Meeting March 18, 1980 - page 2 VI. New Business 1068 Plan Review for Office Complex at 162 North First Street, J.C. Map Page 37-2W-3DD, Tax Lot 6200, Van Wey-Schleining, Applicants. Building Official Ritchey stated that the Staff Review of the proposal had revealed a problem with the drainage of the site. He stated that he had contacted Richard Stevens of RCS Management, the representative of the applicants, regarding the problem and Mr. Stevens had requested to be withdrawn from the agenda to allow the applicant more time to resolve the problem. VII. Miscellaneous Matters Commissioner Hillyer mentioned that the March 18, 1980 issue of the Medford Mail Tribune had an article stating that Jackson County had denied the request for a zone change at the Seven Oaks Interchange. VIII. Commission Hillyer made a motion for adjournment, second by Thelen. All in favor,. motion carried. Adjournment came at 7:40 p.m. Addendum: After adjournment a Study Session was set for Tuesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The topic will be Solar Access Implementation.
