HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 15, 1980 Planning Commission Meeting City Hall Council Chambers January 15, 1980 Meeting was called to order by Chairman McMatiama. Present were DeArmond, Hillyer, Nordby, and Thelen. Absent were McPherson, Sorensen and Wilds. Also present were City Administrator Dave Kucera, Building Official R.J. Ritchey and Secretary Stamper. Introductions were made of Tracy MacDonald and Oscar Stallsworth and oath of office given by Kucera to the 2 new Planning Commission members; MacDonald for Position #4 and Stallsworth for Position #3- expiring Jan. 1, 1984, and seated at the Council Table. First order of business was election of Officers. Motion made, seconded and unanimous ballot cast for Earl Nordby as Chairman. No other nominations were made for the position of Chairman. The nominations were closed. Motion made, seconded and unanimous ballot cast to nominate Jean Hillyer as Vice-Chairman. No further nominations were forthcoming. The nominations were closed. Both Commissioners received unanimous ballots for the positions they were elected to. Ben McManama turned over the Chairman's gavel and his place at the Council table to new Chairman of the Planning Commission Earl Nordby, then left the podium for a seat in the audience. Request for correction to the Minutes of December 18, 1979 meeting to show the public hearing date for Enlargement of Non-Conforming Uses before the Planning Commission to February 5, 1980 in second paragraph of page 2 of the Minutes; rather than 1979. Minutes of December 18, 1979 were approved with correction as noted by all members present and voting in the affirmative. Correspondence Building Official Ritchey reported on an A-95 received from Jackson County Planning Department for a request to rezone 3.28 acres from RR-5 (County) to RR-1 (County). Land located on J.C. map 36 2W 25C for Tax Lot 5900. Mr. Ritchey determined property was outside our proposed Urban Growth Boundary. Discussion. Secretary was requested to return the document with statement that property was out of our area of concern and jurisdiction, and therefore, the City had no comment. Notice was given of the Central Point Citizens Advisory Committee meeting for City-concerns. ,,Willbbbeheld on Jan. 16, 1980 at 7:30 P.M. at the Central Point Senior Citizens Drop In Center. Areas of discussion will include properties on the west side of railroad tracks on Pine Street for more compatibility be- tween the City zoning map and the Comprehensive Land Use Map. Also, Enlarge- ment of Non-Conforming Uses in the test of the Municipal Code books is another topic to be discussed.
