HomeMy WebLinkAboutJune 25, 1974 Special Adjourned Meeting Planning Commission bff.Xity of Central Point ' June 25, 1974 Adjourned from June 18, 1974 Business The Commission met in regular session at 7: 30 P.M. with Chairman Bowers presiding. Roll call found the following.Commissionmembers present: Banks, McManama, Zieser, and Loveland. Others present were Administrator Young and Contractor Glen Bessonette. I. School District 6 Addition, Bessonette Construction Request for building of a Parts Room Addition. Mr. Donald Messmer, Mainenance Supt. of 'District #6, inquired what was needed to get approval. Chairman Bowers had Don Banks read the Minutes of the last meeting asking that: 1. Registered Engineer' s Stamp be required, and 2. Electrical Plan be 'required. Mr. Bessonette asked if that was a State law that he was not aware of? Administrator Young said he had checked with State who said it was a matter of interpretation; but the responsibility was to local officials. Mr. Messmer questioned if the registration was obtained, would the Plan be approved? Chairman Bowers responded. ."That was what the Commission agreed upon at the last meeting." Mr. Bessonette said he would obtain the necessary drawings and Stamp after discussing the costs with the Commission. II. Member Zieser wanted to know if the 1_-Landscape Plan had been required in let Federal Savings plan on Highway 99 and East Pine Streets. Chairman Bowers and Member Banks agreed the Plan was approved but that the "planters" could have been bigger! Member Zieser remarked he thought the construction was poor and did not agree with a blase' corner that did not reflect the Mayor and Council's requirement for planting. . Chairman Bowers said the Plan had been approved; and it had been constructed as approved. III. J. D. Dutton; Inc, located at 125 South Front Street It was noted by Chairman Bowers 'that J.D. Dutton, Inc. was not living up to the use of the gas station as an office facility. The area, -he said, was a mess! Chairman Bowers request City Administrator Young to have the Police Dept. look into the problem. - IV. Breeding Dock for Louisiana Pacific (Cheney Studs) Chairman Bowers explained necessity for concrete docks for loading and unloading. General discussion followed. Chairman Bowers said that he felt a building permit could be issued. Member -Banks agreed also. It was the opinion of the Commission to let�,this construction project have a building permit: V. Land Use Plan Member Banks asked if the City had additional Zoning Ordinance copies already collated: Admini Young said he would have to check on this. Chairman Bowers aaid it was his understanding that the Comprehensive Land Use Plan?.and Zoning Ordinance had to be amended by Public Hearings through the Planning Commission, and he requested the Commissioners to begin re- viewing the Land Use Plan for possible future revisions. With no further questions raised, Chairman Bowers closed the meeting.
