HomeMy WebLinkAboutJanuary 7, 1974 Central Point Planning Commission Study Session for the Review of Scenic Village Subdivision January 7, 1974 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bowers at 7:35 P.M. Other members present were Banks, McManama, Wegs and Zieser. Commission member Morrison arrived at 8:05 P.M. Also present were Mayor McBee and Council members Mslot, Hamer, Mills, and Tally as well as City Administrator Zate, City Engr. Weswood, and Mrs. Jo Eunderburgh of the Medford Mail Tribune, correspondent. Chairman Bowers asked Engineer Westwood to report on the progress of the Sub- division up to this time. Mr. Westwood referred tothe Planning Commission's approval and recommendations on the Subdivision and also the letter of December 3, 1973 from Mr. Walter Marquess, Engineer for the project, concerning the sewer line extension to Upton Road; �in which the developer wants the City to participate in the cost of the line at a price of $14,722.00 Mr. Westwood pointed out that at the time of the approval of the tentative plot plan, the developers agreed to all recommendations and did not mention the cost of the sewer line. Mayor McBee inquired of Mr: Westwood about the grading that had been done before the tentative plot had been presented. Mr. Westwood stated that the developer had changed the original contour of the land which would make it necessary to go deeper to sewer the lots on Upton Road. Chairman Bowers stated that there are other problems - such as the developer has no easements to-reach the B.C.V.S.A. sewer line in that area as yet. After some discussion, Commissioner Zieser made a motion to deny the request of the developer that the City participate in the cost of $14,722.00 as referred to the letter dated December 3, 1973 from Marquess & Marquess and adhere to the findings of the Planning Commission of September 25, 1973. The motion to dery the request seconded by Member McManama. Roll call vote, all members present were in favor and the motion carried. (Motion to dery City participation in costs) Member Zieser made a motion to adjourn at 9:14.5 P.M., seconded by Banks. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned.' i
